Halal
For many non-Moslem  consumers it is difficult to understand the difference between “Halal meat”and “non-Halal meat”. The following description should help clarify this distinction.

Halal is Arabic for “permissible”. This primary refers to meat for human consumption i.e. which animals may be eaten by humans, how these animalsmust be (humanely) treated and slaughered ans how the meat must be handled. These dietary laws are observed by all moslims. The holy book of Islam, the Koran describes what is considered “Halal” and “non-Halal”.

Recognisability
Most young Moslem consumers do their grocery shopping at the supermarket, particulary shops that sell clearly labelled Halal products. The recognisability of the OBA brand will convince Moslem consumers that they now have the option to buy their Halal grocery products everywhere and anywhere, whether shopping at the supermarket or eating at the snack bar around the corner.
